Rush Philanthropic through our Rush Education team aims to present the highest quality of arts education for inner-city youth, with a particular focus on underserved, under-recognized or disadvantaged populations.
Rush feels that the process of making art is an invaluable tool and that art-making itself can be used as a vehicle to build bridges between communities. Rush offers a creative learning environment in which students can interact with artists, explore contemporary arts, and see the world through a variety of perspectives. Art provides a unique way for young people to learn, connect and communicate. While its primary emphasis is also on the arts, Rush Philanthropic is committed to the general wellbeing of young people by considering a wide range of concerns.
Through our Rush Little Kids, Kids, and Teens education programming Rush Arts continues to foster the creativity of thousands of inner-city youth.
Rush Education programs have been made possible through contributions from: Bloomberg Philanthropies, Fox Broadcasting Company, Goldman Sachs & Co., Star Jones, The Kraft Group/New England Patriots Foundation, Mitch & Robin Modell, Motsepe Foundation, NYC Department of Education, New York State Council on the Arts with support of Governor Andrew Cuomo, and the New York State Legislature, Pepsi-Cola Company, Saker Shoprite Inc., Soledad O’Brien & Brad Raymond Foundation, Sun Capital Partners, TD Bank, Tamia & Grant Hill Foundation, Target, Tyler Perry Foundation and many more.
